  • About the Role

    Work with a team of consultants and federal government stakeholders to support a program management office (PMO) in a major Government agency, providing expertise gained from education and previous professional services in the area of management consulting, business analysis, and emerging information technologies. Support program activities and interact with client personnel, including senior leadership to accomplish multiple program objectives. Act as a senior consultant in complex or mission critical client requirements.



    This position is located in Washington DC. Telework option is available.


    This role will directly support the Government PMO leadership with ongoing and future acquisition programs, market research, business case development, stakeholder management, analysis and data collection, communication, and reporting needs to ensure effective PMO execution.


    The role requires an individual with proficient (written and verbal) communication and organization and facilitation skills to assist the Government client manage a large and diverse set of PMO stakeholders, including the information technology (IT) vendor community and the government wide agency personnel.

    • Assist the government PMO clients operate and mature the PMO programs and services.
    • Partner with PMO subject matter experts (SMEs) and assist with development of high quality key artifacts such as business cases, market research reports, business and technical requirements, process improvement documentation, business process diagrams and workflows, executive presentations, whitepapers, customer blogs, web content, progress reports, templates, and other materials as necessary to support continued operations of the PMO.
    • Effectively manage timely communication and interactions with key PMO stakeholders, including information technology (IT) vendor community and the government wide agency personnel.
    • Apply proficient organization skills to manage, track, prioritize, report, and complete all assigned tasks on time.
    • Ensures that all project information is captured and accurately reported in PMO reports.
    • Provide meeting facilitation as required (prepare meeting agenda, schedule and set up meetings, prepare meeting materials, draft detailed meeting minutes, and follow up on open actions).
    • Support the development, tracking, monitoring, and reporting of program metrics.
    • Develop effective program communication strategies and execution plans using a wide variety of industry proven techniques.
    • Identify and communicate potential risks and issues that would have substantial program impact.
    • Support PMO quality management activities.
    • Design high level processes and policies in support of the PMO programs.
    • Support content management by assembling and organizing all key PMO artifacts on client portal.
    • Pro-actively support strategic PMO initiatives to maturate the PMO organization, processes, and tools.
    • Assist with coordinating events for the Government, occasional travel to business destinations in and around the DC area may be required.


    Required Qualifications

    • 5 to 7+ years of consulting experience delivering projects in a technical environment preferably in federal government environment.
    • 5 to 7+ years of experience in client management.
    • Customer-focused attitude and ability to work proactively and efficiently with an appropriate sense of urgency.
    • Excellent writing and communication skills.
    • Proficient in stakeholder management, facilitation, program support, and organization skills.
    • Proven ability to successfully manage the delivery and execution of high quality, multiple work assignments on schedule and with minimal direction.
    • Ability to work effectively and interact with all levels of management including executive leadership.
    • Expertise in using, MS Office, expert in PowerPoint required and familiarity with Google suite of products.
    • Self-directed and motivated with strong organizational, systematic and orderly planning abilities, and high attention to details.
    • Willingness to proactively learn and support federal acquisitions, federal processes and policies, and initiatives involving emerging technologies such as cloud computing.
    • 7 or more years of relevant experience in management of IT program offices.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field.
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
