  • About the Role

    In this role, you will support a prominent federal agency in coaching one or more teams on agile best practices and enable them to leverage agile to boost productivity, quality, and consistency. 

    The role requires an individual with a broad technical background with proficient (written and verbal) communication and organization skills to assist the Government client manage a large and diverse set of websites, systems, tools, and technologies.

    • The Agile Coach will be a champion for agile adoption and responsible for delivering results, practical coaching, and developing self-directed application development teams by setting direction, engaging the stakeholders, and removing obstacles to foster continuous improvement.
    • The candidate will be instrumental in providing mentoring for projects that transition from a traditional Waterfall SDLC approach to agile approaches, such as Scrum and Kanban methods, practices and rules.
    • Being a primary contributor in the development of Agile policies, practices and processes.
    • Provide technical Agile coaching support to build team capability within DHS components for code development, automated testing and frameworks, test automation frameworks, production monitoring, and continuous delivery/integration in cloud-based environments
    • Guiding engineers on Agile technical best practices and emerging technology.
    • Stakeholder management of all key stakeholders of large-scale IT programs


    Required Qualifications

    • 3-5+ years of Agile experience with software development project as a Business Analyst, Tester, or Software Developer adhering to an agile process.
    • experience coaching and/or transition teams from waterfall to Agile Scrum environment
    • Agile Certification
    • Hands-on experience in one or more agile methodologies such as Scrum, XP, Kanban, and Lean.
    • Hands-on experience with ALM tools such as Rally, JIRA, or other similar tool. 
    • Extremely organized and methodical in handling multiple tasks and issues.
    • Ability to collaborate and gain trust in a multi-cultural, diverse, and intense environment.
    • Excellent written skills including the development of PowerPoint presentations, memos, and visual diagrams.
    • Keen ability to use whiteboards to articulate ideas and thoughts in a compelling manner within a limited period of time.
    • Excellent verbal skills including the ability to chair, lead, and moderate meetings that may involve conflicting opinions from stakeholders.

    Desired Qualifications

    • DHS experience preferred
    • Good problem-solving skills and capable of facilitating an environment for creative thinking and innovative ideas
    • Experience with supporting BD activities
    • Understanding of Enterprise IT Systems SDLC (Waterfall and Agile)
