  • About the Role

    eGlobalTech is seeking a DevOps Engineer to work in an exciting and fast-paced company.  The DevOps Engineer will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle and will focus on the application development and the automation of application(s) and system(s) deployment.  The ideal candidate for this position will have both development and system administration background or experience.


    • Design, develop, and operationalize Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery solutions to promote application and systems throughout the SDLC development lifecycle into associated environments
    • Application development using Ruby on Rails 
    • Participate as a technical expert, with the development team, in the packaging, deployment, and management of software images and updates 
    • Become the Subject Matter Expert for the configuration and deployment of software development efforts 
    • Create and implement standards and best practices across organization 
    • Document all procedures and processes developed or utilized by the DevOps Engineer - this could include creating documentation such as Release Notes, Version Description Documents, and install instructions 
    • Actively research and incorporate the newest innovations and principals where there is value and/or efficiencies for using these technologies

    Required Qualifications

    • AWS experience with an associated or better certification (can substitute experience)
    • CI/CD Pipeline Development Experience
    • A calm demeanor, able to withstand an amount of chaos
    • Decent Linux command line skills

    Desired Qualifications

    • Terraform experience
    • Artifactory experience
    • A basic knowledge of biology and scientific process


    Other nice to haves...

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
    • At least 5 years’ experience in software development and system administration
    • Experience developing, supporting and deploying web applications written in Ruby on Rails
    • Strong background in Linux and Windows Administration
    • Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
    • Experience with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server)
    • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (AWS, Linux, VMWare ESX required)
    • Knowledge of IT and security standards and industry best practices
    • Continuous Integration experience, Jenkins preferred
