  • About the Role

    eGlobalTech is looking to hire a Cloud Administrator to support a platform built for the use of multiple emergency response organizations. This is an exciting opportunity to learn new technologies and best practices from the experienced technical staff on the project. The selected candidate will help in maintaining an infrastructure of over 50 instances in Amazon EC2 and work with some of the most popular GIS servers and tools on the market. In addition, they will get to hone their performance enhancement skills, program in multiple languages (ruby, python) and get to perform duties which support life-saving teams nation-wide. We are looking for someone who is excited at the prospect of gaining new knowledge and experience in the field of Geographic Information Systems, as well as virtual environments. 

    Responsibilities

    • Performs systems administration functions for Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Maintains and creates new, as needed, cloud compute instances, storage, and other cloud services
    • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
    • Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems
    • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all cloud and non-cloud devices
    • Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
    • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
    • Provides continual improvement recommendations for engineering and administration of cloud structure, processes, and practices

     

     

    Required Qualifications

    • Ability to perform cloud account management
    • 2 + years of experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, customers, and management
    • Experience with IT infrastructure administration services
    • This position requires a clearance and/or badge that involves an extensive background and credit check

    Desired Qualifications

    • AWS cloud administration experience
    • Configuration management experience (Chef or Puppet)
