About the Role

This position directs a team of RMF governance, risk, and policy analysis professionals focused on improving the implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for a large program team supporting a Federal customer.


  • Lead the improved implementation of the Risk Management Framework for an information security program for a federal government customer
  • Detailed, hands-on, practical understanding of and experience with implementation of all six steps of the RMF for federal information systems
  • Deep understanding and expertise with NIST SPs 800-37, -30, -39, -53, -53A, DHS 4300A/B, OMB A-130, OMB A-123
  • Identify RMF and governance process and implementation gaps, weaknesses, and corrective actions for the organization's information security governance, risk, and compliance program
  • Develop associated schedules and resource plans to direct and track the work of team members implementing these improvements
  • Develop and review governance, risk, and compliance work products and implementation plans
  • Perform quality control on all work products and deliverables
  • Integrate and coordinate activities with team members focused on information security policy, awareness, and training capabilities
  • Lead and participate as an individual contributor for complex projects
  • Develop practical and risk-based approaches for information security governance implementation and process improvement
  • Work with ISSOs (contractors and Government) and Assessors to identify governance and RMF improvement opportunities
  • Make strategic recommendations based on program evaluation results across the enterprise



Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience delivering programmatic support to federal customers
  • 5+ years of in-depth experience leading an information systems governance support program, including identifying and executing process improvement activities, working with federal partners to support their strategic goals and objectives, and developing program strategic and implementation plans
  • 5+ years practical, hands-on experience implementing the RMF for the systems security lifecycle of federal information systems 
  • 5+ years experience managing small teams
  • Strong project management and work sequencing skills
  • Experience implementing governance, risk, and compliance programs for a federal customer
  • Ability to work on the customer site 5 days a week and local travel to customer sites in Arlington/Alexandria/DC area
  • Available for occasional travel outside local area (less than 10%)
  • Ability to obtain a security certification within 6 months
  • Active Secret Clearance required

Desired Qualifications

  • One of the following: CAP, CASP, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CISA, CEH.
