About the Role

Work in a technical advisory capacity with a team of consultants and federal government stakeholders to support a IT program management office (PMO) in a major Government agency. Provide expertise gained from education and previous professional services in the area of technical consulting, business analysis, and project management. Support program activities and interact with client personnel, including senior leadership to accomplish multiple program objectives.



This position is located in Washington DC. After 60 days, telework option is available on Fridays.


This role will directly support the Government ITPMO leadership with technical guidance, project management, business case development, stakeholder management, analysis and data collection, communication, and reporting to ensure effective ITPMO execution.


The role requires an individual with a broad technical background with proficient (written and verbal) communication and organization skills to assist the Government client manage a large and diverse set of websites, systems, tools, and technologies. 

  • Assist the government ITPMO client operate and mature IT programs, services, and processes.
  • Assist the government in troubleshooting technical issues and developing solutions to address them.
  • Assist the government with the implementation of new technology tools, processes, and policies in support of ITPMO programs.
  • Partner with PMO subject matter experts (SMEs) and assist with development of high quality key artifacts such as business cases, business and technical requirements, process improvement documentation, business process diagrams and workflows, executive presentations, whitepapers, customer blogs, web content, progress reports, templates, and other materials as necessary to support continued operations of the PMO.
  • Effectively manage timely communication and interactions with key PMO stakeholders, including information technology (IT) vendor community and the government wide agency personnel.
  • Apply proficient organization skills to manage, track, prioritize, report, and complete all assigned tasks on time.
  • Provide meeting facilitation as required (prepare meeting agenda, schedule and set up meetings, prepare meeting materials, draft detailed meeting minutes, and follow up on open actions).
  • Support the development, tracking, monitoring, and reporting of program metrics.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks and issues that would have substantial program impact.
  • Support content management by assembling and organizing all key ITPMO artifacts on client portal.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience delivering projects in a technical environment preferably with the federal government.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in client management.
  • Website development or management experience, preferably within the federal government environment.
  • System development or management experience, preferably within the federal government environment.
  • Capability to learn, implement, and use technology tools such as JIRA, Zendesk, and Google Analytics.
  • Customer-focused attitude and ability to work proactively and efficiently with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Proficient in stakeholder management, program support, and organization skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage the delivery and execution of high quality, multiple work assignments on schedule and with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work effectively and interact with all levels of management including executive leadership.
  • Expertise in using, MS Office, expert in PowerPoint required and familiarity with Google suite of products.
  • Self-directed and motivated with strong organizational, systematic and orderly planning abilities, and high attention to details.
  • Willingness to proactively learn and support federal processes and policies, and initiatives involving emerging technologies such as cloud computing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of federal government Assessment & Authorization (A&A) and Authority to Operation (ATO) processes.
  • Knowledge of (or ability to learn) subject areas, such as accessibility, customer experience, cybersecurity, data centers, digital strategy, identity, credential, and access management, IT policy, and technology business management (TBM).
  • Knowledge of (or ability to learn) supporting technologies such as AWS, Drupal, GitHub, Salesforce, Tableau, Qualtrics, and WordPress.
