About the Role

The scope of the effort is to provide technical enterprise architecture support services across the enterprise.  This will include providing systems architecture support in the functional areas of IT, security, network, and cloud architectures.



  • Assist in defining the Technical Reference Architecture for an agency’s infrastructure modernization.  This role is responsible for the following
  • Documentation of the technical solution and ensure that it meets the business capability requirements defined by the Federal client.  
  • Mapping the technical solution to the Technical Reference Architecture.
  • Reviewing proposed projects and proposed changes to the agency’s hardware and software baseline for alignment with its current and target architectures.
  • Support the development of the technical solution architecture, including, but not limited to documenting high-level architectures, detailed functional requirements, frameworks, and transition plans.
  • Support working group meetings including the development of meeting notes, briefings, and presentations.
  • Support the Project Manager with project plan management, project status report creation, and tracking of project issues and action items



Required Qualifications


  • Understanding of and experience with large, complex solutions and systems is essential. 
  • 5-10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture environment.
  • Understanding of and experience with some combination of the following technologies is highly desirable:
  • Microsoft operating systems plus Exchange, SharePoint, and the Office suite, SQL Server or Oracle, Cisco networking products, VMware server virtualization products, NetApp or EMC storage products, JAVA and COTS products
  • Mobile and web technologies - devices, applications, wireless networking
  • Cloud computing, social media, and user collaboration
  • Ability to understand and communicate business processes and technical documentation
  • Experience with reviewing and editing business documentation including technical requirements, business processes, and implementation plans.
  • IT architecture and/or enterprise architecture experience
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, tools, and methods, including Zachman; TOGAF; FEA; DODAF is a plus
  • Communication:
    • Demonstrably excellent writing skills (samples may be requested)
    • Assists in the facilitation of team and client meetings, providing well-defined agendas, managing action items, and taking meeting notes.
    • Prepares and delivers informative, well-organized presentations.
    • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management.


Desired Qualifications

  •  DHS experience
  • Education / Experience:
    • BS in CS or related field or combination of college degree with relevant experience
    • Federal government experience is a plus
    • Eligible for a secret clearance; active Secret or Top Secret clearance is a plus
