About the Role

This position is leading a team of security control assessors as part of a larger integrated project team for a Federal customer.


  • Develop a SCA strategy for the organization
  • Develop associated schedules and resource plans to complete the assessments
  • Develop and review Rules of Engagement, Security Assessment Plans and Security Assessment Reports
  • Perform quality control on the assessment and associated deliverables
  • Integrate SCA functions with overall continuous monitoring and CDM
  • Participate as an individual contributor for complex system assessments
  • Develop practical and risk based approaches for security control implementation and vulnerability remediation
  • Work closely with ISSOs (contractors and Government)
  • Make strategic recommendations based on SCA results across the enterprise


Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ experience performing security testing and/or security control assessments
  • 2+ years’ experience managing small teams
  • Strong project management and work sequencing skills
  • Deep understanding of NIST 800-53 and 800-53A
  • Significant experience with tools such as Nessus, Web Inspect, Db Protect and Splunk
  • Strong technical background with Windows, Unix, legacy systems and cloud
  • Ability to work on the customer site 5 days a week and local travel to customer sites in Arlington/Alexandria/DC area
  • Available for occasional travel outside local area (less than 10%)
  • Ability to obtain a security certification within 6 months
  • Active Secret Clearance required

Desired Qualifications

  • One of the following: CAP, CASP, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CISA, CEH.
